Legendary Singer Lesley Gore to Perform at Algonquin Arts

July 28, 2008

Lesley Gore, the renowned singer and songwriter, known for her classic hits Its My Party, You Dont Own Me, Judys Turn to Cry and many others, brings a superb performance to the stage of Algonquin Arts on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 8 pm. The concert will feature her popular hits as well as new songs from her recent album under Engine Company Records entitled Ever Since.

Lesley Gore has been classified as one of the most successful female artists of the 1960s girl group era. However, her success does not stop there. Her recent album of 2005, Ever Since, produced by Blake Morgan, contains re-imagined adaptations of her songs You Don't Own Me" and "Out Here On My Own," which received an Academy-Award nomination.

Engine Company Records affirms that, Ever Since is a Lesley Gore postcard, sent from the journey shed always said she was going to take. Fans who have traveled with her will have a new reason to love her, and the people who havent checked in with her in a while will fall in love all over again.

Lesley Gore will be at Algonquin Arts on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 8 pm. Tickets range from $42 for adults and $40 for seniors and students. Group rates are available.
