MANASQUAN, N.J. (March 4, 2013) - Algonquin Arts Theatre celebrates the arrival of 'Rock Stars of Romanticism' as classical pianist Vladimir Zaitsev performs a compilation of Romantic Era favorites in Manasquan on March, 13 at 10 a.m.

Tickets cost just $9 and are available in advance by calling 732-528-9211, visiting algonquinarts.org or stopping by the Algonquin Arts Theater Box Office at 173 Main Street in Manasquan from 12-6 p.m. on weekdays and from 12-4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Zaitsev uses his versatile and charismatic talents to create a singular one-man show, in which the audience is presented with dazzling pianism, heartfelt renditions and a mixture of delightful and personal anecdotes. His repertoire includes a combination of music from Chopin, Liszt and others.

Born in Kiev, Russia, Zaitsev was introduced to the world of performing arts by his mother, an actress and a singer at the local Musical Comedy Theater. At 16, he made one of his life's many difficult choices when he turned down an offer to join the Ukrainian Ballet on Ice Company and instead entered Kosenko Music College where he studied piano with Irina Ocheretianaya. Upon graduating with highest honors from the Musical College, Vladimir immigrated to the United States where he entered Mannes College of Music as a piano student of Nadia Reisenberg. He also continued his piano studies with Alexander Eydelman in New York City.

Zaitsev has performed on three continents, including appearances in Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall as well as number of TV and Radio appearances. The New York Times described his Town Hall Debut as "triumphant." A teacher himself, he has mentored numerous finalists in the Algonquin's annual "Rising Stars" program which honors classical musicians of high school age.
