
Everyone has a story to tell! This is a performance class based on children's literature during which students will learn performance principles through the dramatic telling of children's stories. Class will discuss character, plot, and other topics necessary to understanding how to effectively tell a story.
Teaching Artist: Gabe Soto
Gabe Soto is a recent BA Theatre graduate from Kean University in Union, NJ. He also received his AS in History Education (K-12) from Middlesex College in 2022. Gabe has been teaching over the past three years in a wide scope, having worked in early childhood up to high school students. In theatre, Gabe's experience is primarily in performance and stage management, with additional experience in directing, lighting design, and other production work. He also has over five years of working shows at community theatre, college, and regional theatre levels. His teaching experience includes multiple school residencies as a history educator, theatre educator, playwriting workshops, creative drama, and more. He is also member of the Alpha Psi Omega and Kappa Delta Pi honors societies for theatre and education, respectively. He has been very thankful to work with theatres like Premiere Stages to kick off his teaching artist career, and is beyond excited to join Algonquin Arts Theatre as a teaching artist this fall!
