
Theatre is the most collaborative art form, and it takes a team of designers to create a captivating environment. This class will teach basic performance design principles relating to scenic, lighting, costume, prop, and/or sound design. Students will creatively and thoughtfully design the environment of a show based on an analysis of a script.
Teaching Artist: Patt Giblin
Patt Giblin has over three decades of experience in all aspects of theatre. A graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, he also holds a B.F.A. from The New School for Social Research, with graduate studies in Education at The College of New Jersey. Mr. Giblin is a member of Actor's Equity Association, and has worked for The American Stage Company, Pan Asian Repertory Theatre, TheatreWorks USA, The Vineyard Theatre, and The Women's Project, among others. He has taught Drama and Advanced Drama at Freehold Township High School for twenty-five years, and since he believes we never stop learning, takes teacher education courses at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He is currently the designer/technical director at Rumson Fair Haven High School.
