Manasquan, NJ - Sensational Irish singing group, Ladan, is set to perform with Irish Step Dancers at Algonquin Arts on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 8 pm, just in time for St. Patricks Day. The six female musicians from Galway, Limerick, and Dublin, weave their interpretation of traditional Irish music with new material using striking string and reed rhythms and accompaniments while always keeping the melody central to their arrangements.

Ladan is composed of Sle Denvir (harpist), Deirdre Chawke (piano accordion), Valerie Casey (fiddle), Claire Dolan (fiddle), Sarah-Jane Woods (flute), and Elaine Cormican (whistles). Since the groups formation in 2004, they have been awarded with the Best Band title at the Festival Interceltique Lorient in 2005 and the Best Traditional Singing Group title at the The Pan Celtic Festival 2005 in Tralee.

This performance showcases the spirit and culture of the Irish heritage and serves as a unique way to celebrate St. Patricks Day a few days early. Audience members of all ages and cultural backgrounds will be impressed with this energetic and entertaining performance.
