MANASQUAN, N.J. (July 15, 2013) - "Broadway's Next H!T Musical" abandons the same old song and dance on Saturday, July 20, at 8 p.m., to create a brand new, fully improvised musical comedy!

Every lyric, melody and pantomime is made up on the spot to create a show called "Hilarious" by The New York Times and "Brilliant" by Theatre Week.

Like the hit television series "Whose Line Is It Anyway," master improvisers make up all of their material on the spot based on suggestions from the audience. The result is an evening of spontaneous music and laughter.

Before each performance, the audience writes made-up song titles on slips of paper and drops them into a fishbowl. Each of the four main actors then draws a title from the bowl and performs the song as if it were part of musical nominated for a "Phony" Award. After the four songs, the ceremony's emcee (the cheeky Greg Triggs) asks the audience to vote for a favorite, which the actors then develop into a fully staged musical with an improvised plot, improvised costumes, improvised everything.

Tickets are available starting at $38 for adults, $36 for seniors and $28 for students online at algonquinarts.org, by calling (732) 528-9211 or at the Algonquin Box Office at 173 Main Street between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Individual tickets are subject to a $2 per ticket processing fee.

"Broadway's Next Hit Musical" has been seen recently at The Triad, Tribeca Film Festival, and at the New York Musical Theater Festival, among many others.

Under the direction of improv veterans Rob Schiffman and Deb Rabbai, the cast includes the top, musically talented improv artists who entertain from coast to coast, and they don't stop there - entertaining at sea and around the globe!

In addition to "Broadway's Next H!T Musical," Saturday, July 20, is also a Fine Arts & Music Night in Manasquan. Painters, sculptors and other artisans will join musicians that will line Main Street from 4-9 p.m. The Manasquan River Group of Artists will be stationed in the Algonquin courtyard, with several local artists displaying their paintings.
