Synopsis

Mark Knopfler founded the British band Dire Straits in 1977. The group quickly found worldwide acclaim, selling over 100 million records worldwide, and winning four Grammy Awards. Their hits, such as "Sultans of Swing", "Money For Nothing" and "Walk of Life," have been staples of radio for over 30 years. After disbanding Dire Straits in 1995, Knopfler launched a successful solo career, collaborating with legendary artists such as Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and Emmylou Harris. His music, and trademark guitar sound, blend rock, pop, blues, jazz, folk, and bluegrass into a distinct, immediately recognizable sound. In 1999, Knopfler was awarded Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contribution to music and the arts.

Manasquan-based Spare Parts will be performing some of Knopfler's most notable work, both from Dire Straits, and his solo career.
